Kausay
eco-project | Valencia region | south-Spain
Kausay opens to everyone who wants to contribute to this piece of land and feels the same love for people, animals and plants.
Here many find new inspiration in themselves to make the world a little more beautiful, and to safeguard what is there, in contact with each other and with nature.

About me, Jeroen
Captivated by nature in all its splendor of color, scent and how ancient cultures live with it, I left for the jungles of Central and South America in 2002. It confirmed to me that this earth is such a beautiful organ with so many beautiful things, which you as a human being simply want to take care of.
Today I see myself as steward of the land of Kausay. I look back with love and gratitude on eight years in which I, together with co-founders, friends and many volunteers, made the land of Kausay grow.
In the Netherlands I worked as a social worker with the elderly and young people. An inspiring time when it comes to working with different generations and cultures.
Kausay opens to everyone who wants to contribute to this piece of land and feels the same love for people, animals and plants. Here many find new inspiration in themselves to make the world a little more beautiful, and to safeguard what is there, in contact with each other and with nature.
Creations flow through my hands. Working in the vegetable garden, growing plants and trees, playing the guitar, telling stories and sharing from inner knowledge are forms of this that are practiced.
I am strongly focused on my sensors. By living in nature, sensors can open up further because fewer filters are needed that are usually needed in hectic urban areas with a multitude of stimuli and influences. With this opening up, our sensitivity can better sense what is really needed and you live closer to yourself. Kausay is a place for people who also want to experience this.
In my opinion, contemporary community life is moving towards separate cells (with their own living units). But we are connected to each other and must find and nourish each other. This creates a network of a healthy living environment with space for everyone’s process and development. Being there for each other and actively helping neighbours form the canvas in which all sorts of things can flourish and develop. By meeting each other regularly and being with each other, a lot of information can be exchanged and we can learn a lot from each other by sharing ideas in open communication without judgement. The current time calls for this: a rediscovery of ourselves with the many gifts that we carry within us or have gained from previous experiences. By discovering this, we empower ourselves. This results in less dependence on the so-called ‘system’. Nature offers a perfect stage for this way of life.
The authentic self. I strive to accept the world as openly and authentically as possible. The child in me tells stories and dances and uses the imagination to create a more beautiful tomorrow. Let’s start with that today ;-).
